Our boys have struggled with injuries all season and were seeded #7 in the team standings going into the meet. Defending individual state champion Jackson McGeough led the team and ran his best race of the season, clocking in at 18:41 for 3rd place. Gael Garza claimed the 19th spot, running a 20:57 – just 2 seconds off his lifetime personal best. But senior Ethan Mason came through in his final 5K as a Trailblazer by running a season best 21:16 and finishing 23rd (30 places better than his projected finish). That effort enabled the boys to finish a surprising 3rd place with 43 points in the team competition. A very satisfying end to the season for our boys team!

Our girls were unable to score in the team competition, but recorded two huge personal bests today. Freshman Adina Jacobson dropped her PR by 30 seconds as she claimed the individual runner-up spot with a time of 21:25. Junior Carmen Lolla shaved over a minute off her PR, finishing in 31st place with a 26:52.

Congrats to Jackson and Adina – they both made the all-state team for the third consecutive year!
