Varsity Boys and Girls Open Season at a Hot McAlpine Park

Sept 1, 2015 – Woodlawn’s largest varsity cross country squad ever – 9 boys and 4 girls – opened the 2015 season at McAlpine Park in Charlotte. Junior Quinn Schneider made an emphatic statement by winning the boy’s race in 17:32, well off his personal 5K record, but quite respectable for an early season race with the temperature hovering in the mid-90s. Freshman Anne Cunningham led the girl’s squad with a 17th place finish.
