Registration is NOW OPEN for our Winter Extended Day Clubs. Choose from soccer, minecraft, art, and more this Winter trimester with Woodlawn’s own Mrs. Ozkan to ClubSciKidz, Ludmila, Soccer Stars and Crazy Running!

Club SciKidz: Veterinary Science

Description: Do you want to be a Veterinarian? Or maybe you just LOVE animals! We do too! Join this club to learn about dogs, cats, and other animals (most commonly kept as pets). Learn animal First Aid (4th – 6th grade will learn CPR on a dog), basic animal anatomy, and so much more. Each week we will do a hands-on activity to learn about a variety of animals including some not commonly kept as pets.

Art Club with Ms. Dacia

Description: Come join Mrs. Dacia, one of our art Teachers as she shares her artistic background in a vibrant after-school art club designed exclusively for the imaginative minds of Woodlawn 1st and 2nd graders! Mrs. Dacia has a BFA majoring is Interdisciplinary Arts having studied at The Art Institute of Chicago, Otis College of Art & Design and Montserrat College of Art. Our young artists can explore their creativity, develop their artistic skills, and have a blast while doing so. From developing a working sketchbook, to creating unique masterpieces using various mediums. Our after-school art club not only provides a fun-filled experience but also promotes essential skills such as hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills development, self-expression, and problem-solving. Watch them unleash their creativity in an inspiring atmosphere filled with colors, laughter, and endless possibilities. Give them the opportunity to embark on an artistic journey that will leave lasting memories and ignite a lifelong passion for the world of art.

Description: Backed by 20 years of experience, Soccer Stars offers a unique, age-specific curriculum that is crafted to improve soccer skills, build self-confidence, and develop socialization skills. Soccer Stars offers the most popular children’s soccer program for kids ages 1 & up.

Ludmila Presents: Group Piano Class

Description:
Small classes of 2-5 students move together as a group through a graded piano book, covering basic reading and rhythm skills along with duet and ensemble playing. These classes are well suited if your child enjoys the varied activities a group can offer along with a focused approach to learning the keyboard. Students with previous experience will be evaluated and will continue with new music following their level. We will have a small performance at the end of the sessions!

Ludmila Presents: MIXED MEDIA ART CLUB

Description: Attention interested artists! In this 10 session course we will be diving deep into the arts by focusing on the fundamentals of drawing and explore how we can grow as artists! We will learn and practice techniques to improve our painting and drawing skills and sharpen our eyes as an artist. Our projects will introduce us to new tools and various mediums! There will be games and an emphasis of self expression in each project. If you’ve been interested in the visual arts and want to dive deeper- we’d be overjoyed to have you!
