September 24: Woodlawn vs University Christian

No statistics can adequately describe the intensity, determination and heart the Blazers showed against University Christian High School. After the Blazers dropped the first set, Abigail Woodall ’19 led the way in two separate serving runs, pushing Woodlawn to 25 and capturing the second set. University Christian fought back and won the third set. With a quick lineup change, the ‘Blazers came out strong in the fourth set with an eight-point serving run by Amelia Woodall ’17. Abigail then finished the fourth set with four straight serves. During the fifth set showdown, the team dropped the first three points. Once Abigail was on the serving line, however, here was no turning back and the team pushed past the Barracudas, 5-3. With a quick side out from the team, Morgan Klein ’19 went to the serving line and ran up 7 points! The crowd went wild when the Blazers went on to win the fifth set, 15-9. It was a tremendous effort by the entire team.
