Oct. 14, 2019 – Despite entering the conference race as underdogs, our varsity boys rose to the occasion to take the SPAA Conference title for the FIFTH TIME IN SIX YEARS! They were led by junior Jackson McGeough, who was all alone in first place with a time of 19:22. Jackson’s individual victory marked the sixth year in a row that a Trailblazer has captured that honor. Sophomore Gael Garza passed an opposing runner just after the 2-mile mark and cruised home in 3rd place. Senior Ethan Mason wrapped up the Woodlawn scoring with a strong 5th place finish, giving the Trailblazers 9 points versus 12 points for United Faith.

Our girls were unable to score as a team, but took two of the top three individual places in the race. Freshman Adina Jacobson finished in 2nd place with a time of 22:36, and junior Carmen Lolla broke the 28-minute barrier with a 3rd place finish – a huge personal record that was over a minute faster than her previous best!
