Lower School Lead Teachers

Woodlawn School is anticipating continued growth and  is seeking experienced full-time lower school teachers (K-5th grades) for the 2023-2024 school year. The ideal candidates are curious, enthusiastic leaders who model lifelong learning, enjoy working with elementary-aged students, and are passionate about teaching and creating authentic learning opportunities. 

We are seeking candidates that enjoy differentiating instruction and are interested in joining our project-based interdisciplinary team. The school seeks faculty members who are passionate about their respective areas of expertise, eager to collaborate with other teachers across disciplines, committed to ongoing professional development, and willing to contribute their talents and time to extra-curricular student programming and activities. 

The successful candidate will have:

*A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in elementary education; master’s preferred

*Understanding of the social-emotional and developmental needs of elementary school students 

*High degree of flexibility and collaboration 

*Interest in service learning, community building, emotional intelligence, and a passion to actively create and integrate ideas into curriculum

*Three years or more of classroom experience at the elementary/lower school level 

*Experience in creating and developing aspects of curriculum, and thrives collaborating with a team of gifted educators  

*Excellent written and oral communication skills

*Understanding of independent school culture
