Bowman Hall · New Horizons Campaign · Woodlawn School · Mooresville, NC

We’re growing into
our next chapter.

The New Horizons Campaign is a community effort, shaped by the generosity of founding donors, families, alumni, and friends who believe in what Woodlawn is and what it can become.

For Bowman Hall
Our Vision · More Than a Building

The realization of everything
this school has always stood for.

Bowman Hall is not just the next step for Woodlawn. It is the realization of everything this school has always stood for, and a gift to every student who will walk these halls for generations to come. We have always believed that the environment shapes learning. That a child given the right space, the right tools, and the right encouragement can do extraordinary things. Bowman Hall is built on this belief.

What's Inside Bowman Hall · Spaces Designed for Discovery

Think bigger. Dig deeper.
Create with purpose.

Bowman Hall brings together under one roof the resources our students need to think bigger, dig deeper, and create with passion and purpose.

Dedicated Classrooms

Purpose-built learning environments designed for all of our 'Blazers. Spaces that inspire curiosity and support the hands-on, project-based learning that defines a Woodlawn education from the very beginning.

Inquiry Lab

A cross between a Fab Lab and Design Studio. Students access 3D printers, advanced fabrication tools, and digital media resources to prototype, problem-solve, and bring their ideas to life. From product design to digital storytelling, this is the space where imagination becomes reality.

Middle School Science Lab

A dedicated lab space equipped for real scientific inquiry, giving Middle School students the tools to tackle complex questions and develop the critical thinking skills that carry them forward.

A Full-Circle Moment

Named for the people
who built it all.

Bowman Hall is named for Karen and Dwayne Bowman, the founders who arrived in this community with a vision, cleared the land, and opened the doors of Woodlawn School. When no school existed that matched what they believed education could be, they built one.

In time, they made an extraordinary decision: they gave this campus to the school itself, so that Woodlawn's mission could endure and serve students long after them. There is no more fitting tribute to their legacy than the building now rising on that land, carrying their name.

This is their dream, made permanent.

Leave Your Mark · Donor Recognition

The community that built
Bowman Hall will be woven into it.

We want the community that built Bowman Hall to be woven into the fabric of the building itself. Our community donor recognition opportunities kick off with custom ceramic tiles with the handprints of our 'Blazers and Woodlawn families.

Every member of our Woodlawn community has had a hand in creating Woodlawn's story. A question asked for the first time. A project that took three tries to get right. A moment a student realized what they were capable of. The ceramic handprint tiles that will line Bowman Hall are part of the New Horizons Campaign's community phase. Each tile is fired and installed by hand, a permanent fixture in a space built to last.
