Scholar athletes.
No cuts.
Woodlawn fields over a dozen competitive teams across eight sports for Middle and Upper School students. Every team is no-cut, every season is free to join.
The lessons learned on the field carry
into every room.
At Woodlawn, athletics are not supplemental to the academic program. They are an extension of it. The same qualities that make a student succeed in the classroom: resilience, preparation, the ability to learn from failure and try again, are exactly what competitive athletics develop. The two reinforce each other every day.
Every Woodlawn team is no-cut. Every student who wants to compete can compete. Woodlawn does not recruit athletes, does not offer athletic scholarships, and coaches play no role in the admissions or tuition assistance process. Every student athlete meets the same academic admissions standards as every other Woodlawn student.
Athletes are expected to adhere to a strict code of ethical conduct and display good sportsmanship at all times. The goal is not just to win: to develop people who compete with integrity and represent this school with everything they have.
A new chapter for
‘Blazer Athletics.
Beginning with the 2026–2027 school year, Woodlawn Athletics competes in the Carolina State Athletic Association (CSAA) for state competition and joins the Carolina Christian Athletic Conference (CCAC) for regular season conference play.
This move gives our student athletes outstanding competitive opportunities while continuing to emphasize sportsmanship, character, and athletic excellence. We look forward to building new rivalries, competing for conference championships, and continuing to grow the tradition of ‘Blazer Athletics.
Seven sports. Every season. No cuts.
Woodlawn competes across three seasons. Every team is open to any enrolled Middle or Upper School student. Click any sport to learn more about the team, season, coaches, and how to join.

growing.
Woodlawn Athletics keeps adding ways for students to compete. Recent seasons brought Cheer, Swim, and Boys Volleyball into the program, with more teams in the works.
Every new program follows the same rule as the rest of ‘Blazer Athletics: no tryouts, no cuts, and a spot for any student who wants to compete.
