Woodlawn is governed by an independent Board of Trustees in accordance with best practices for nonprofit educational institutions. Our governance model is designed to protect the school’s mission and ensure long-term institutional health.
Strategic Planning
The Board partners with school leadership to develop and steward Woodlawn’s multi-year strategic direction, ensuring that every major institutional decision is aligned with the school’s mission and values.
Financial Oversight
Annual budget approval, independent audit review, endowment management, and campaign oversight are core Board responsibilities. Woodlawn’s financial health is reported transparently to the community each year.
Community Trust
Board members are ambassadors for Woodlawn’s mission, in the Lake Norman community, among prospective families, and with donors and partners whose investment makes this education possible.
