The stage is where
‘Blazers learn to
own the room.
Theater at Woodlawn is stage-driven: vocal performance, acting, and dance come together in plays and large productions. From the Red Barn stage to full-scale shows, every ‘Blazer who steps into this program steps into something real.
Performance as
a way of thinking.
Theater at Woodlawn is built on the same project-based foundation as everything else: students don’t just study performance, they make it. Every production runs the full arc with auditions, rehearsals, design, and opening night. And every role, on stage or behind it, is real work.
Across divisions, theater develops the outcomes that define a Woodlawn graduate. Advocacy, Agency, and Awareness through the shared accountability of a live audience.
From audition to
opening night, every step counts.
Annual Productions
Plays and large productions each year give students the complete experience from first read to final bow.
Stage + Performance Skills
Vocal performance, acting, and dance; the craft of holding an audience’s attention.
Behind the Curtain
Sets, lighting, sound, and stage management allowing students to build the world the story lives in.

Red Barn Playhouse.
Where the story begins.
The Red Barn Playhouse is where the tradition starts. Musical Theater enrichment for PK through 5th Grade, giving Woodlawn’s youngest students a real stage, a real audience, and their first taste of performance. It connects to the full K–12 arc: Lower School students look up at Middle and Upper School productions, and older ‘Blazers remember where their love of theater began.
Red Barn Players.
Where students take the stage.
The Red Barn Players is Woodlawn’s theater company for Middle and Upper School students, full productions each year, student leadership in creative and technical roles, and the experience of building a show from audition through opening night. The Red Barn is their home: a space the company owns and returns to year after year.

Theater + Performing +
Fine Arts Pathway.
Students who pursue theater with depth can earn a Fine + Performing Arts Pathway designation, anchored by an original production, a directing project, or research into stagecraft for the Senior Capstone.
