Spend your
summer on
61 acres.
Sports. Arts. Academics. Outdoor adventures. Woodlawn’s summer camps are open to all students, PreK – 8th grade, from across the Lake Norman region. You do not have to be a ‘Blazer to spend your summer here.
Four categories.
One incredible campus.
Every Woodlawn summer camp takes full advantage of the campus: the fields, the Red Barn, the organic garden, the trails, and the facilities that make learning here different from anywhere else in the Lake Norman region. Camp descriptions and specific session dates are released each February.
Sports camps run across multiple sports and skill levels throughout the summer. Campers develop fundamentals, compete in friendly formats, and build the kind of team instincts that come from playing alongside people who are genuinely trying to get better. Whether a camper is on the field for the first time or preparing for a competitive season, there is a program at Woodlawn designed for where they are.
The Red Barn stage, the visual arts studios, and the open spaces of the campus give arts campers something most summer programs cannot: real venues for real work. Arts camps span visual art, performance, design, and music. Students leave with something they made. Not a worksheet. Not a certificate. An actual thing they created that did not exist before they arrived.
Academic enrichment at Woodlawn looks different from what most people expect. Campers investigate questions, run experiments, build things, and present what they found. Academic camps bring the same inquiry-driven approach that defines the school year into a summer schedule with more room to go deep on whatever has captured a camper’s attention.
Sixty-one acres of campus becomes sixty-one acres of summer when the school year ends. Outdoor camps use the trails, organic garden, challenge course, and open fields to give campers an experience that cannot happen inside a building. Campers hike, build, observe, identify, and sometimes just sit in the middle of a field wondering what lives in the soil underneath them. That kind of wondering is exactly what these camps are designed to produce.
A real summer experience.
Woodlawn’s campus does not empty out in June. It opens up. The same 61 acres that students learn on during the school year become available to the broader Lake Norman community through camps designed to do more than fill a schedule.
‘Blazer summers
are open to everyone.
Woodlawn summer camps are one of the most visible ways the school opens its campus to the broader community. You do not need to be enrolled at Woodlawn to spend your summer here. Families from across the Lake Norman region register each year.
