STEPS TO APPLY

DISCOVER THE DIFFERENCE

THE PROCESS

START HERE

We encourage you to visit Woodlawn School not only to tour our beautiful and historic 61-acre campus and see our state-of-the-art facilities but to meet our beloved teachers and gifted students. The best way to understand and appreciate the culture of our school is to spend time with our community and experience the joy, wonder, and discovery that is brought to life on our campus every day.

INQUIRE NOW

We want to get to know you better! Our inquiry form asks for basic information such as your child’s age/grade, family address, and an email address and/or phone number. Please click HERE to submit an inquiry, and we will be back in touch with you soon!

SCHEDULE A TOUR

We know once you drive into our beautiful 61 acre campus, you’ll want to experience what we are all about.  During your visit, you will get to know our teachers and students as we walk around and see classrooms in action. You will find Woodlawn to be a welcoming, engaging and energizing environment! Schedule a tour today!

SUBMIT AN APPLICATION

We invite you to submit an application and the $95.00 application fee online. Once the application is submitted, your student will be assigned a checklist which includes instructions on how to request a transcript from your student’s current school (Grades 1-12) and required teacher recommendations for all grades.

Application deadline for first round consideration is February 1, 2026.

Applications received and completed after the deadline will be considered on a rolling basis. If there isn’t space available in a particular grade, you can choose to be added to the waitlist. The application process and checklist steps must be completed to join the waitlist.

ATTEND OUR PROJECT-BASED LEARNING DAY

At Woodlawn, we know how valuable it is to explore a school and get a feel for the educational environment on campus. We are excited to offer our Project-Based Learning Day experience! This allows you and your family the opportunity to attend live project shares by our Woodlawn students and see Project Based Learning in action across all grade levels. There is no better way to understand the Woodlawn Way!. You can register for our annual PBL Day online here.

Project Based Learning Day Friday, November 21, 2025 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM

Discovery Days for PK, Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten

Discovery Days are our version of a visit day for our youngest applicants. The morning should mimic a preschool setting and feel familiar to your child. These small group observations are about an hour long in length and led by our teachers.

Discovery Day for Kindergarten – Thursday, February 19, 2026 at 9:30 AM – 11 AM

Discovery Day for PK and Junior Kindergarten – Thursday, February 26, 2026 at 9:30 AM – 11 AM

SHADOW DAYS FOR GRADES 1-12

Your child will have the opportunity to shadow a current student for the day. The visit allows prospective students to get a feel for the schedule of classes, an opportunity to meet the teachers, experience our classrooms and make new friends. During the visit day, Woodlawn School assesses applicants in a one-on-one setting. The Admission Office will reach out to schedule the day after the application has been received.

FOLLOW UP CONFERENCE FOR PARENTS

Once all the steps of the admission process have been completed, we will schedule time for the admission team to meet with each family and share the highlights from the visit day and answer any questions.
