Middle School XC Teams Look Strong in Season Opener

The Middle School harriers started the season off right during their first meet of the year at SouthLake Christian. The boys walked away with the overall win, followed closely by St. Mark. Woodlawn seventh grader Joey C. commanded an early lead in the race and ran away with the overall win for the boys, finishing the 3K course in 11:19. Eighth graders Jack B. and Jesse J. finished within seconds of each other in 6th and 9th place, and Jackson M., seventh grade, rounded out the scoring for the boys with his 11th place finish.

On the girls side, our young team did not disappoint. The infamous “sea of green” was out in usual Woodlawn fashion — Dina C., eighth grade, and fifth graders Leilani R. and Adina J. packed together to claim 5th, 6th, and 7th places. Newcomer Nadia R., 5th grade, finished 12th and rounded out the girls scoring giving them enough to capture second overall in a very competitive field.

Both teams are back in action Monday, Sept. 21 at Fisher Farm as Woodlawn hosts the two mile race.
