Woodlawn’s boys and girls track and field teams swung into action on a cold afternoon at Cannon School. The boys team was led by senior Quinn Schneider, who scored 20 points by winning the 1600m and 800m runs. Quinn showed that he is ready for another blockbuster season, crushing the field by 20 seconds in the 1600m, and then displaying a ferocious final-lap kick to win the 800m in a new personal record time. Freshman Ethan Mason chipped in with 6 points by recording personal bests in both the 400m run and discus. The girls were led by sophomore Megan Dailey, who placed second in the long jump with a new Woodlawn School record of 14′ 8″, and then snagged third place in the 100m before finishing her day by anchoring the 4 x 100m relay to a second place finish.
