Woodlawn Runners Open 2018 Season with Strong Performances

Aug. 27, 2018 – The Trailblazers traveled to McClure Park in Statesville on an extremely warm afternoon to compete with teams from the SPAA conference. On the boys side, sophomore Jackson McGeough led the way, placing first in the race and serving notice that he may be the runner to beat this year in the 1A state meet (last season, he placed 3rd in that meet). Senior JT Faccone and sophomore Ethan Mason rounded out the scoring for the boys team, which finished in 3rd place (1st among 1A teams). For the girls, eighth grader Adina Jacobson and senior Ally Fleming both looked to be in good early-season shape as they finished in 3rd and 5th place respectively. Freshman Caitlin Hays finished the scoring for Woodlawn in her first race as a Trailblazer – helping the girls team to a 2nd place finish (1st among 1A teams).
