September 22: vs. St. Mark

On the road, the Blazers battled fiercely through an uneventful first half, matching St. Mark Catholic School nearly shot for shot. The second half opened with a barrage of attacks from Woodlawn, led by shots from RJ, Tanner and Joey. St. Mark netted a go-ahead goal on a counterattack from one of these possessions, but soon afterward RJ caught the St. Marks’ keeper off his line and beat him with a chip shot that ducked just under the crossbar to equalize the game. The game ended at a 1-1 tie. After two five-minute overtime periods, it was decided that the game would be decided by penalty kicks. Woodlawn’s scored three (from Michael, Joey and David) but St. Mark scored four: a disappointing end to an otherwise great game.
