October 6: Woodlawn vs. Carmel Christian

The Blazers traveled to Matthews, NC for their final away game before the SPAA tournament, to take on the Carmel Christian Cougars. Despite playing with only nine players against a full Carmel team, the Trailblazers successfully spread the field and connected passes through the midfield on a few occasions. The Blazers’ starting goalkeeper was sidelined due illness, so Adam Simkowitz ’19 stepped up to start the game in goal, recording six saves on ten shots. Hank Grzeszczak ’19 later subbed-in for Adam, recording five saves on ten shots. The final score was 9-0 in favor of Carmel Christian.
