October 8: Woodlawn vs. Victory Christian

The visiting Victory Christian Kings proved tough to beat. With great energy and focus in the first half of the game, the Blazers kept most of the play in their half of the field. Passes up the wing were connected to outside midfielder Michael S. ’20, a new addition to the roster. Michael was the first to score in the game, putting away a shot from inside the penalty box for the 1-0 lead. Will Hedrick ’18 scored his first goal of the season, a strike past the Kings keeper from the wing to tie the game at 2.2 Other players taking shots on goal were Wesley Neal ’19, Drew Hedrick ’16, Adam Simkowitz ’19, and Jake Johnson ’17. Goalie Nick Trovato ’19 recorded six savesIn the end the Kings prevailed with a late game goal that the Trailblazers couldn’t equalize, and the score stood at 3-2 in the opponents’ favor. During Senior Night ceremonies before the game, Bennett Kolls ‘16 and Drew Hedrick ’16 were recognized as role models and leaders for the team.
