September 8: Woodlawn vs United Faith Christian

The Trailblazers faced off against conference rival United Faith on Tuesday. Following a tough practice on Monday, we came out strong in the first set with the Woodall sisters passing a 2.5 in serve receive. The Blazers put up 11 real points, through 2 aces, 2 blocks and 7 kills. However, the ball fell too many times in defense and we lost the first set 23-25. Unfortunately, the team couldn’t keep the momentum going and dropped the next two sets, 17-25, 17-25. The combination of poor serve receive passing and missed digs on defense put the Blazers behind early in both games. The team rallied at the end to reach over 15 points in both sets, which is a team goal for the season. We have four more practices before our next match and will be working on a new line to try out against Victory Christian.
