Runners Snag Second Spot at Season Opener
The Middle School cross country teams opened their season August 27 at McClure Park in Statesville on a hot and humid afternoon. Both the boys and the girls grabbed runner-up positions with the boys narrowly edging out Hickory Day by one point.
Sajan P., Russell J., and Spencer W. rounded out our team scoring at 19 points and Mark C. pushed the scoring just enough to give the boys their second place finish. The girls had a solid race as a team just missing first place by two points. As typical of Woodlawn runners, a big pack of green dominated the middle of the race grabbing spots 6, 7, 8, 9, and 11.
